Responsible operating practices

We understand the role that our buildings and parks play in strengthening local economies, creating jobs and driving economic growth. We also want our spaces to be places that both employees and the local community can enjoy, and places where our customers’ businesses can flourish.

Every new building we develop meets leading sustainable and energy efficiency standards, built to our “Indurent Standard”. In the last 12 months, we have also tripled our solar generation capacity, which is good news for both our customers and the environment.

Sustainability & environmental impact

Sustainable, energy-efficient buildings are not just good for the environment, they’re also good for business. Our new developments are modern, sustainable spaces where energy efficiency comes as standard.

We design our buildings to reduce energy consumption, and help our customers reduce their operational costs by offering energy-efficient infrastructure, such as smart energy systems and renewable energy solutions. This ensures both environmental benefits and financial savings for our customers.

Sustainability and Environmental Impact

Reducing operational energy use

Our first priority is to reduce energy demand and consumption, controlled through energy efficient equipment and insulation. The most sustainable energy is the energy we don’t use.

Generating renewable energy

Generating renewable energy on-site is the next focus. We install photovoltaics (PV) on all new developments where viable. We are also exploring opportunities to retrofit installations to our wider standing portfolio.

Purchasing renewable energy

We purchase all remaining electricity from Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) where possible to support investments into renewable energy technologies.

Investing in communities & skills

Through our charitable activities, employee volunteering and community engagement we aim to deliver tangible impact in the areas that need it most, giving back to the communities where we operate and helping deliver positive social value.

By working in partnership with schools, colleges and technical skills providers, we have an opportunity to help align curriculum learning to the latest industry practice, supporting the development of future talent and broadening awareness of job roles and career opportunities in the sector.
